New Routine

Many thanks for all your positive comments on our new morning routine with our children coming straight into their classes as soon as they arrive at school from 8.45 am onwards.  We shall be surveying the opinions of children, staff and parents next week.  Following this consultation we shall be in a position to decide on and confirm arrangements for the longer term.  Please fill in the surveys and return them to our office as quickly as possible.  Remember that if you do want to speak to any of our teachers, parents are warmly invited to come into school.  The doors are wide open and you are all very welcome as usual.

Time to say goodbye

It is always sad when members of our team move on but this year two of our longstanding and valued members of staff have decided to retire.

Our caretaker, Mr Andrew Brettell, will be leaving us after 15 years at Greenfield.  Mr Andrew has become part of the furniture in his caretaking and lunchtime supervision roles.  His commitment to the school has really enabled us to develop the community use of Greenfield out of school hours and we are grateful to him for all his work.

Mrs Jane Underwood, our Special Needs Coordinator, will be hanging up her chalk after a long and successful career, 21 years of which have been at Greenfield.  Mrs Underwood has worked especially well with all staff to make Special Needs a whole school issue over the last six years.  Her membership of the local authority Assessment Panel has been to the benefit of our children at Greenfield because it has given her a clear understanding of the statementing process.

We are planning a special send-off for Mr Andrew and Mrs Underwood.  All details will be communicated to our parents and families by Parentmail.

Everyone can grow in a Greenfield!
