Many congratulations to our brilliant tag rugby teams for such splendid achievements in this week’s first qualifying round for the Black Country games. We went to a breezy Old Halesonians yesterday to compete against local schools from Stourbridge and Halesowen and were pleased to be able to field both an A and a B team. Both of our teams played exceedingly well in their groups and progressed to the semi-finals, where our A Team beat Caslon Primary 6-2 and our B Team beat Wollescote 3-1. This meant an all Greenfield final! This was a hugely exciting and entertaining game of end to end rugby, in which both Greenfield teams put in an excellent performance. After a gripping encounter Greenfield A gained the upper hand and went on to win 5-2. This means that both Greenfield teams are now through to the all Dudley Finals in the spring. I am immensely proud of the effort, enthusiasm and positive sporting attitude of both our teams. Well done to Isabel Norton, Max Lamb, Sam Grimmett-Bate, Jessica Noble, Jenson Ollerenshaw, Joe Owen, Millie Knott, Tom Burborough, Ben Atherton, Connor Palmer, Sonny Morgan, Joe Kelly, Jake Holloway, Jack Iceton, Eloise Kent, Toby Gorner, Bethan Rees, Jordan Docker and Reuben Allen! You are a credit to our school and really prove how much we can achieve through dedication, team work and determination.
