We have been very busy throughout the holidays in order to enhance our site. We are pleased that the school’s original 1989 boilers have finally been replaced with a modern, efficient heating system. This should guarantee a cosy learning environment for our children in the cooler months ahead and ensure savings on our heating and hot water costs too. We have also improved our fire evacuation routes with a new tarmac path on the Faulkner Close aspect of the school and re-laid a large amount of our paving to ensure a level, safer access to our building for children, parents, staff and visitors. It’s good to see our play equipment back in use too. Many thanks to Tony, Granddad of Joseph Harbon in Year 1, for his advice, help and engineering expertise in making this happen.
I am meeting with our MP Margot James in a week’s time to discuss the cuts to education funding and find out about the latest developments on the Longlands site. I shall share this information with you in a subsequent newsletter.
