After 11 very happy and successful years as Headteacher at Greenfield, I am very sad to say good bye to all our Greenfield children, staff and families. Throughout my headship, the three elements of partnership between children, parents and school have been central to my philosophy and vision for our school. This close co-operation between home and school has helped each child to feel secure, gain confidence and meet with success. I thank all our parents and carers for being such an important part of your child’s education and for working so closely with us. Please keep it up in September!
I know I am going to miss our Greenfield children. They are special in many ways. They are warm, kind and considerate. I have really appreciated their enthusiasm for getting involved in life at Greenfield, making the most of learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom. We have worked to develop an engaging curriculum, which produces high standards, alongside a rich range of educational experiences for all our children and they have immersed themselves in both. I hope this will be nurtured, extended and improved in the future. The value of an excellent primary education combined with creative and physical experiences cannot be overestimated. Our Greenfield children have benefited from and will remember the music, art, dance, shows, Eisteddfods, recitals, whole class instrumental tuition, Arts Weeks, performances at Symphony Hall and the NEC, residentials, athletics, sports competitions, swimming at the Crystal, Share the Learning assemblies, Open Sessions and their teachers.
I congratulate our staff for their tireless work in continuing to build on our ‘Outstanding’ status and the 2018-2019 school year has brought us considerable, continued success. We are delighted with our excellent SAT’s results, which are significantly above national outcomes yet again. Our recent academic and creative achievements are well-deserved rewards for our children, staff and everyone connected with our school.
I would like to say a final thank you to every single member of our superb staff team for all their hard work, creative thinking and absolute dedication to the children and families of our school during my time at Greenfield. We have worked relentlessly to ensure that all our staff share the highest of expectations for our Greenfield children. I know that our staff always do whatever it takes not only to enable the children to be happy and develop as well-rounded individuals, but also to make progress and achieve success in their learning. I shall be eternally grateful to my brilliant Leadership Team colleagues, Mrs Remmers, Miss Cook and Mrs Hawker, our committed teachers, our innovative teaching assistants and our superb office and site staff for putting in such a huge effort to make each year so successful and memorable for the pupils with a happy school environment, high quality learning opportunities, stimulating curriculum enrichment and outstanding academic outcomes.
Thank you all so much for your continued involvement, support and warm words of praise and congratulations. I would also like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to all our children and families for your thoughtful end of year presents and wonderful cards. Your kindness has overwhelmed me and I promise you that your generosity is greatly appreciated by us all.
I wish you all the very best of future health, happiness and success, and hope that our paths will cross again.
