Music is a very important aspect of life at Greenfield and it is always exciting to see new musicians starting to learn an instrument. We are pleased to have worked successfully with Dudley Performing Arts (DPA) to provide instrumental tuition at Greenfield for many years.
We currently have a limited number of spare places, if you would like your child to have instrumental lessons. We are able to offer Brass (cornet, trumpet, trombone, tenor horn, euphonium and French horn), Woodwind (clarinet, flute), Strings (violin, cello), Guitar and Singing lessons. There are many adults, who wish that they had had the chance to learn a musical instrument at school, so please don’t miss this opportunity for your own children. All lessons are provided by experienced tutors and most of our children learn in small groups. We do our best to ensure that lessons take place at lunchtime or during the afternoon, so that our children do not miss learning in English and Maths. Lessons are open to all children frim Year 2 to Year 6. Please contact our office if you are interested.
Children who play any musical instrument at any level of ability are warmly encouraged to join our School Band, which runs every Tuesday from 3.30-4.00 with Mr Mark Hadlington. Mark is our Brass Tutor, who teaches our whole class trombone lessons in Year 3 and Year 4. His enthusiastic, good humoured approach makes playing in our School Band a great and enjoyable experience.
