At the end of last term, a large group of our Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 children (now, of course, in Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6) had the brilliant idea of making items from loom bands and selling them to raise funds for our Home School Association. The children used their fingers to weave coloured bands into items such as bracelets, necklaces and charms, using a range of different designs. Have a look on YouTube and you’ll be able to see how to make designs such as fishtails, dragons and starbursts, which were made by the children. I was hugely impressed with the children’s entrepreneurial spirit, brilliant teamwork and willingness to help our school. The thing, which struck me most, was the fact that the majority of the group were boys. Well done to all of you for raising £100.94. Congratulations to Solomon Tyler-Gordon, George Smith, Theo Stevens, Maeve Smith, Ethan Bird, Remy Wear, Todd Stevens, Connor White, Miles Cutler, Zain Ali, Will Holloway, Kai Lumsden, Mary Cutler, Jack Miles, Erin Holloway and Kate Miles.
