Our Key Stage 2 pupils have been invited to take part in a Bellboating Experience. This has been a very popular activity in previous years and the children have really enjoyed taking part. We shall paddle on the Stourbridge Canal and then return to Greenfield on foot. This Bellboating Experience is being organised and led by Andy Train, a five time Olympian and three time world champion marathon canoe racer. The bell boat was designed by Andy’s Dad, Olympic Canoe Coach David Train: ‘The bell boat is a totally unique design in watercraft; its purpose is to remove the fear of taking part and to help with team work and co-operation. The versatility of the bell boat holds no bounds, it is a long lasting robust platform for introducing all ages to water sports as well as a classroom on the water.’ The children will be accompanied by specially trained bellboat helms, who hold full British Canoe Union qualifications. Full safety equipment is provided for the children. If you would like more information, please visit www.bellboat.com. We welcome willing volunteers to come along, so if you would like to join us on Monday 15 or Wednesday 17 October, please contact Mr Bravo directly.
