We believe it’s important for children to feel proud of their achievements and photographs and films provide the perfect record of the special moments in their lives. A simple photo also enables family and friends to share the successes of their children. However, it is also important for us all to be aware of child protection and safeguarding issues when people are taking photos or filming at events. The potential for misuse of images can be reduced if we are all aware of the potential dangers and put appropriate measures in place. Potential risks include children being identifiable when a photograph is shared on websites and the inappropriate use, adaptation or copying of images.
In the interests of safeguarding our children, we need your cooperation. There will be opportunities at all our performances for families to take photographs or videos but these must be exclusively for personal use. If anyone were foolish enough to upload any of these images onto social networking websites, the privilege of taking personal photographs would have to be withdrawn. We are sure that you will agree that we must all act together to keep all our Greenfield children as safe as possible at all times. The important thing is to be sure that people with no connection with our school do not have any opportunity to access images of our children. Our members of staff are asked to quiz anyone they do not recognise, who is using a camera or video recorder at events and productions.
